Inside Air Force one

The inside of the flying white house is nothing like a regular plane.

Inside Air force one

One of the coolest parts of Air Force One is definitely the inside of the plane. Everything needs to be perfect for the president, from perfectly made beds that can fold out in to sofas, to clean towels, and fresh food which is brought to the president whenever he feels like a snack. One amazing documentary that gives a unique perspective and tells a lot of interesting stories about Air Force One is National Geographic's On Board Air Force One. It can be bought at places like Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, and Google Shopping.
The slideshow below shows two overhead views of Air Force One so that you can get a sense for where each room is in the aircraft.

The President's Quarters
The president’s quarters has a workout room, a very nice bathroom, and a bedroom. The president’s quarters are at the very front of the plane on level two. The bathroom has showers and sinks, and is always ready for the president and the first lady. In their bedroom, there are two beds with a blue blanket on top, which can fold out into sofas. By the windows, there are remote control activated shades that cover the windows with the push of a button if the president or the first lady feel like taking a nap. There is also a sitting room where the president can meet with his guests. No information is available about the workout room.

The President's Office
The president’s office is directly behind his quarters. If you were to enter through the door that the president enters every time he steps on to the plane, it would be directly in front of you. When you walk into the office, in the left hand corner is the president’s desk with a brown leather chair behind it. If you look to your right, there is a brown sofa stretching around the right side of the room. In the far right hand corner of the room is a tan table with a lamp, and two phones on it. There is a trash can under that table. The president’s office is where the president makes decisions for the country while he is flying.

The Video Library
There is a video library on the plane where the president can choose a movie to watch. The video library is in the president’s private quarters.

The Medical Office
The medical office is directly behind the president’s office. The medical office has an operating table and lifesaving equipment, just in case of an emergency.

The Galleys (Kitchens)
There are two main galleys (kitchens) on Air Force One. All of the meals are made here. The main Galley is directly behind the medical office. Five chefs work to keep everybody fed, making it feel like a restaurant with really nice food, napkins, plates, trays, etc. The staff records how the president likes his meals, even the coffee! There is a board on the galley’s wall that says exactly how the president likes his coffee. The plane can store enough food in it’s pantries and freezers to serve 2,000 meals. Also, the food stored on VC-25A can feed 100 people. All meals are served on a tray that bears the presidential symbol. I think that it would be awesome to have restaurant style food on an airplane. The president gets 5 star service wherever he goes!

The Senior Staff Room
The senior staff room is a room directly behind the main galley with a couple of chairs where senior staff members, including the president, can talk in private.

The Conference and Dining Room
The conference room can be made into the president’s dining room. It is completely soundproof for talking about private matters, there are two flat screen TVs for presentations, several phones to talk to the ground, and an intercom system to talk to other parts of the plane. It can be made into a dining room where the president and his family eats.

The Guest Section
Where guests flying on the plane sit. Simply just a row of seats in the back of the plane.

The Security Section
People who are trained to protect the president sit back here. Just a row of seats.

The Press Section
Where news reporters and other types of the press sit. The president always has a reporter with him who is hired by the White House. Again just a row of seats.

The Support Crew Section
